The University of Maryland Claude D. Pepper Older Americans Independence Center (UM-OAIC) consists of five research cores, Research Career Development Core, Pilot and Exploratory Studies Core and Leadership and Administrative Core. Utilization of the research cores’ services is reserved for researchers that are conducting studies related to the Center’s mission and aims. The UM-OAIC five research cores’ services are vast and include assisting with study design development to hands-on training for investigators and staff. Additionally, the UM-OAIC is able to provide new investigators limited services at no cost and funded investigators cost effective services (cost sharing). The research core services are led by UM-OAIC investigators with expertise in the specific focus of the core. There are several basic requirements established that each investigator must meet when utilizing the research core services. Click Research Core Requirements to learn more about the basic requirements. Investigators that believe they fulfill the requirements mentioned above may submit a Clinical Investigation Request Form and Core Services and Fees Form (Complete steps 1 and 2).
